First, we should harmonise and negotiate for the peace. The war between Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Republic of Korea (ROK) has not finished yet, that the war isn’t ended but is in abeyance. There still is a Military Demarcation Line. About 10 years ago, the president Kim Dae Jung (ROK), who won Nobel Peace Prize, promoted the Sunshine Policy, The Sunshine Policy promotes to have closer bond with DPRK, and to release the tension between two countries. As a result, DPRK opened their mind to ROK. For instance, DPRK allowed to exchange visits of separated families from two countries. In addition, they opened up a special economic zone known as Gaesung Industrial Complex, which ROK companies manufacture goods by using cheap DPRK labour, and this was expected to bring positive economic effect for both countries. However, the current government are doing a Hard-line Policy, which leads DPRK to block and isolate them again. In addition, DPRK attacked ROK for several times. I believe, violence is not a solution, and we should try to have conversation to narrow the differences.
Second, we should defeat terrorism for the peace. A lot of terrors have occurred in the world these days, such as September 11 attacks. In 2001, 19 hijackers hijacked and attacked theWorldTradeCenter, and Pentagon inUSA, This was terrible incident, as a lot of innocent people died, including policemen and fire policemen as victims of terror. From this incident, not onlyUSA, but also all around the world have experienced this horrible terror. As for this, people become more closed and stricter about Islamist as well, as hijackers were Islamist. I was very shocked by this news and thought that like this hideous incident should not be happened again. In addition, I am not sure this is good for whom and for what. It is not clear what the hijackers were intended for this incident, but because of this incident, people are scared, concerned, more conflicts occurred and far from the peace. Terror is not the solution for the differences.
As i wrote above, we still have things to keep the peace. To keep the peace, we should understand the differences between us and others, and we should find the mid–point by having conversation. Furthermore, violence never brings the peace, therefore we should not try to dominate others by a military force. I believe that if we keep those things which i mentioned, we can be more harmonised and the world will be more peaceful.
